To our Beleura Family.
It’s been another successful weekend of Sports with good results in Football, Basketball and Netball.
We also held our first major fundraiser for the year for the club with our “Trivia Night” being very successful. All attending had a great time with the winning Table received a $500 voucher to the newly opened Susanne’s Place in main street Mornington.
A special thankyou to all committee members who worked extremely hard in making the night a success and obtaining our wonderful silent auction prizes. Also, a special mention to club sponsors who came to the party also and donated prizes.
The new Jumpers for both the Under 10 & Under 12 Mustangs have arrived and will be on debut for our next home game. An order has been placed for our hoodies also so hopefully they will be arriving soon.
Speaking of which, our next home round is the highly anticipated MND Round. We raised nearly $5k last year for MND. We hopefully will match or better that figure this year. Please register and donate to have your “favourite” Beleura family member put through the ice bucket challenge. I’m putting $50 in to have our longest serving committee member, Trudy Lennon-Bowers, to have the privilege of receiving the Ice Bucket Challenge. If we can get this up to $100 for Trudy it would be great and I’m sure she’d willingly accept the challenge.
We have also created a sponsor’s page on our website. What we are looking for is businesses to donate $100 to the club for your business to be promoted on this page. We will have a sponsor of the week which will be promoted on all our social media posts and Scoreboard recognition at home games and Auskick. So, if you’re a local Tiler, Gardener, Mechanic or what ever and you’d like some extra marketing this could be the place for it. We as members of the club should be looking here first if you need any assistance so we can support those that support the club.
Our footy teams are playing some exciting football at the moment with all improving since the start of the year.
Congratulations also to our interleague representatives – Holly Waugh and Shayla Cowling for making the under 14 Girls interleague side (As Bottom ages). Matilda Argus Under 16 Girls for being appointed Vice Captain (Matilda is a registered Beleura Player). Hannah Adams, Sophie Butterworth, Emily Jerkovic, Laine Oakley, Skye Mitchell And Stella Appleford all made it in the Under 18 Girls team. Well done to all the girls.
